It's Not Weak To Speak

Men's mental health is often ignored, and men themselves deny they suffer from poor mental health. But one man and his unique support group is challenging this.

Andy Bishop, leader of Man Gang UK, began his support group after dealing with the loss of a close friend. He realised that men's mental health is often pushed aside, ignored or laughed at, often by men themselves. Aiming to de-stigmatise poor mental health in men, Andy and his members of Man Gang openly talk about their issues, or just listen to each other. There are no limits to what can be spoken about, and the men find their issues finally heard. There's no professional therapy, no diagnosis - men just talk. And in an age of isolation and social distancing, some men need it now more than ever.

I'm so grateful to have been a part of this production. Man Gang UK is an incredible group with fantastic members, and Andy Bishop's ambition to help struggling men and bring them out of their shell really drove me to create this documentary. I hope he and the group continue their great work.
